How Tranexamic Acid Compares to Other Active Ingredients

Azelaic acid, vitamin C, kojic acid, and hydroquinone all target pigmentation through different mechanisms; Hydroquinone, for example, works by inhibiting melanin synthesis directly and is typically used at prescription strength.
